Some parents seem to go through divorce and never go back to court, while other parents are back in court on a regular basis. A Parenting Coordinator can help parents stop going to court.
Meredith Richardson is appointed by the court as a Parenting Coordinator by agreement of the parents. In this capacity, she functions first as a mediator, and then as a decision-maker when problems arise. She can also provide help as a conflict coach throughout the process.
Let's face it, there are all kinds of things to fight about if you want to fight. Maybe the order doesn't specify who will provide transportation. Maybe the order says that holidays are to be shared, but does not say how holidays are to be shared. Maybe Christmas is to be shared in accordance with the schedules of each extended family, and someone changed something so that now those schedules conflict. Maybe the order says that a parent gets February vacation, but the parents don't agree as to whether that goes from Friday to Friday (7 overnights) or Saturday to Sunday (8 overnightss) or Friday to Sunday (9 overnights). Maybe the order says that a parent gets Wednesday nights, but doesn't specify if that is an overnight or not. Maybe the order provides for reasonable contact and the parents disagree as to what is reasonable. The list goes on and on.
In all of these situations, Meredith Richardson is an excellent resource. As a Parenting Coordinator, she provides the parents with a faster, cheaper outcome than if they were to hire attorneys and take the battle through the court system. Ideally, parents will learn better co-parenting skills for the long run and strengthen their ability to communicate with each other. At a minimum, parents may begin to see things from the other parent's perspective again.
You can expect to pay a retainer when hiring Meredith as your Parenting Coordinator. A retainer is not a flat fee. As the work is completed, RESOLUTION bills against the retainer and asks you to replenish the retainer in that amount. When the work is done, we will refund any of the retainer that has not been used.
