As an employer, what are the benefits of mediation?

  • A better work environment. Let’s face it, all it takes is one bad relationship to turn a work environment absolutely toxic. Mediation allows the people involved to talk things through privately, with a skilled mediator to help them through the difficult conversation.
  • Less lawsuits against the employer by employees. The statistics bear this out. Issues are addressed as they arise and do not escalate to the point of litigation.
  • Confidentiality. Law suits are not confidential.

Mediation can help to take some of the drama out of the day-to-day work environment. What starts as two people disagreeing can escalate as more are called in to take sides. Productivity can fly right out the window, as everyone focuses on the argument and not on their work.  Once people work through what they are arguing about, then they can get back to work!
